Bloc Mont Roig del Camp Edi

Las “Roques de Benet” situadas en medio de todo el conjunto de montañas y separadas de Horta por una gran llanura, atraen nuestra mirada y son un punto de referencia en la comarca de la Terra Alta. Estas impresionantes rocas, que en su día inspiraron al pintor Pablo Picasso, son una de las formaciones montañosas más características y emblemáticas del Parque Natural. Sus paredes verticales de conglomerado se elevan casi 300 m y caen verticalmente sobre una base calcárea.

Su nombre original, Bene, es árabe y ya figura en la carta de asentamiento cristiano del siglo XII. El camino para subir a la cima está indicado y es apto para cualquier persona con una mínima forma física. Desde la cima, a 1.013 m, disfrutamos de una fantástica vista panorámica de la llanura que tenemos delante, así como de las montañas circundantes.

Dénia es la capital de la comarca de la Marina Alta, en el norte de la provincia de Alicante, su población es de más de 40.000 habitantes pero en verano se duplica por los turistas que llegan atraídos por las playas, el clima y las más de 3.000 horas de sol al año y también por la gastronomía, Dénia es una de las dos ciudades de España reconocidas como Ciudad Creativa de la Gastronomía por la UNESCO. Dénia tiene varias zonas perfectas para vivir todo el año y disfrutar del verano, las Marinas, las Rotas, el casco urbano y la Montaña del Montgó.

La primera imagen al llegar a Dénia es el Castillo, construido en los siglos XI y XII, es el monumento más importante de la ciudad y alberga el Museo Arqueológico, sus calles se encuentran en el barrio de Los Roques y en el barrio marinero, Baix la Mar. Un paseo por el centro de la ciudad nos lleva a la calle principal, C/ Marqués de Campo, con sus terrazas, comercios… en sus alrededores se encuentran el Mercado Municipal, la Plaza del Convento, la Iglesia de San Antonio. Otro de los atractivos de Dénia\Nes su fachada marítima, donde se encuentra la Lonja y el edificio de las Antiguas Atarazanas.
